1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to Ryze at ryzeapp.org, its account services, and the Ryze Distraction Blocker extension (“Service”). Ryze is a student platform for study planning, focus, mistake analysis and optional study-related wellbeing support. Contact the Ryze team at [email protected].
When creating an account with email and a password, you must tick the agreement checkbox before submitting your signup. When you choose Continue with Google, the notice beside that button explains that continuing means you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy; no separate checkbox is required for that route. Google’s own consent screen concerns Google account access and does not replace this Ryze notice.
If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue with Google. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled; acknowledging it is not blanket consent to unrelated data uses.
2. Who can use Ryze
Ryze is intended for students aged 13 or older. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If you are not old enough to agree to these Terms where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to your use where required. Any permissions required by applicable law remain necessary.
Use accurate account information and only use an account you are entitled to access. We may restrict access where necessary to address misuse, age requirements or legal obligations.
3. Your account
You can use supported email/password signup or Google sign-in. Keep your password and sign-in access secure, do not share account access, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. Google sign-in remains subject to Google’s own service terms.
You are responsible for the information and activity you knowingly submit. You can manage your profile and sessions through the available account controls. We may require verification before changing or deleting an account.
4. Features and beta availability
Ryze offers study plans, subjects and exam tracking, focus sessions and website blocking, and optional check-ins and journals. Document and mistake-analysis tools are available only where enabled. University planning is in development and marked coming soon.
The Service is in beta. Features may be incomplete, produce errors or be temporarily unavailable. We may improve, change or retire features and will communicate material changes where appropriate. Keep a separate copy of important work; Ryze is not intended to be your only storage for schoolwork or records.
5. Study tools and AI output
Study plans, questions, explanations and AI-generated analysis are learning aids. They can be inaccurate or unsuitable for a particular syllabus, exam or personal situation. Check answers, dates and source material yourself and follow your school’s rules for assessments and AI use.
Ryze does not guarantee grades, admission, scholarships, internships or any particular academic result. You remain responsible for academic submissions and decisions. Do not use Ryze to impersonate someone or submit work in a way that breaks assessment rules.
6. Wellbeing support
Check-ins, journals, breathing tools and summaries support reflection on everyday study stress. Ryze does not provide therapy, diagnosis, treatment, crisis response or professional medical advice. Entries are not continuously monitored for emergencies.
Do not rely on Ryze for urgent help. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted person who can assist.
7. Focus tools and the browser extension
The blocker applies your selected website rules while a focus session is active. It is a browser tool, not a device-wide or tamper-proof control. Browser settings, connection failures, disabled extensions and other technical conditions can affect blocking.
Focus Lock may restrict early completion of a session; available Emergency Use options are checked by the backend. Read the session controls before starting. Keep essential study, communication and emergency resources accessible and choose your block and allow lists carefully.
Disconnecting or uninstalling the extension does not automatically delete your Ryze account or synced account records. See the extension privacy information for details.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Ryze to break the law; threaten, exploit or harass others; impersonate another person; upload malware; infringe copyright or privacy; or access another person’s account or records. Do not bypass access controls, abuse APIs, disrupt the Service or use automation that causes unreasonable load.
Upload only material you own or are permitted to use. Avoid unnecessary personal or sensitive information, particularly information about other people. We may restrict misuse, investigate security issues or remove unlawful material when necessary.
9. Your content and our materials
You keep the rights you hold in papers, answers, notes, journal entries and other content you submit. You give Ryze permission to host, store, process and display that content as needed to provide the features you request, maintain security and handle information as described in the Privacy Policy. For enabled AI analysis, this includes sending the material needed for your request to the disclosed provider.
This permission does not transfer ownership or authorize unrelated advertising uses. It ends when the content is deleted, except for retained copies described in the Privacy Policy or required by law. Ryze’s branding, software and original materials belong to their respective owners. You may use them only as needed to use the Service or with permission.
10. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy describes account information, Google sign-in, study and wellbeing records, uploads, browser storage, service providers and deletion choices. Optional features may involve additional information; choose whether to use them.
Third-party services and external links have their own terms and privacy practices. Google sign-in does not give Ryze access to Gmail, Drive or Calendar through the basic identity scopes used for login.
11. Prices and subscriptions
Ryze is currently offered as a free beta. If we introduce paid features or a Pro subscription, we will show the price, billing period, included features, renewal, cancellation and refund information before purchase. You will not be charged simply because you already have a free account.
A paid plan requires a separate purchase decision. Any paid terms must be presented before you agree to pay and cannot override rights that applicable law gives you.
12. Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide a useful, secure service, but cannot guarantee continuous availability, error-free output or that the Service will meet every need. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided as available without promises of specific academic or personal outcomes.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or removes mandatory consumer rights. Where the law permits, Ryze is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of the Service. We do not exclude responsibility where applicable law requires us to accept it.
13. Leaving Ryze or restricted access
You can stop using Ryze at any time. Use Settings → Your data for an available export or account deletion, or contact support for help. Data handling after closure is described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end access for a material breach, security risk, unlawful use, or where required by law. Where reasonable and lawful, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue. You can contact support to ask us to review an account restriction.
14. Changes and questions
We may update these Terms as the Service or applicable requirements change. We will update the date on this page and give notice of material changes through the Service or by email where appropriate. Where required, we will seek renewed agreement. Changes apply from their stated effective date and do not remove rights you already hold.
Applicable mandatory laws and consumer protections remain in effect. These Terms do not impose exclusive foreign courts or remove legal remedies available to you. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply to the extent permitted by law.
